According to IMD's World Competitiveness Yearbook 2009, which ranks 57 countries based on 329 competitiveness related criteria, ranked Turkey as the 47th competitive nation with a score of 53.39. USA, Hong Kong and Singapour are ranked as the top three competitive nations.
The Economic Freedom Index 2009, which is a joint publication of Heritage Foundation and the Wall Street Journal, ranked Turkey as the 75th economically free nation out of 183 countries. The Economic Freedom Index uses 10 sub-categories in analyzing the economic freedom level in 183 countries.
According to Forbes' Best Countries for Business Index 2009, Turkey has got a ranking of 41 out of 127 countries, representing a stand-still position when compared to previous year's results.
The ranking of Turkey has been improved 4 steps and placed in the 90th position in terms of Fraser Institute's Economic Freedom Index 2008.
